He is currently working in Airbus Cabin Electronics Buxtehude Predevelopment and investigating opportunities for a complete windowless aircraft. He has been in his current position since August 2015. Before working with Airbus R & T, Burkhard was responsible for the complete System and SW-Development of the Cabin Management System of A350 XWB.

Burkhard started his career by graduating with an MS in Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig. He then spent 8 years in semiconductor concept development joining Philips Semiconductors- later NXP.

In 1999 he joined Airbus Buxtehude – at this time KID-Systems- starting as a project leader for Hardware Development. Later he extended his scope by leading SW and System-related projects.
